Description
Claims (11)
- 액정에 인가되는 전계의 방향이 도메인별로 다르게 되도록 하여 상기 액정에 입사되는 광을 회절시키는 액정투사형 표시장치에 있어서,전면기판과 배면기판 사이에 주입되는 액정과,상기 전면기판 상에 형성되어 상기 도메인별로 액정에 부분적으로 전계를 인가하는 상부전극패턴과,상기 상부전극패턴에 대하여 쉬프트되도록 상기 배면기판 상에 형성되어 상기 도메인별로 액정에 부분적으로 전계를 인가하는 하부전극패턴을 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광회절 현상을 이용한 액정투사형 표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 액정의 꼬임각은 50∼100°인 것을 특징으로 하는 광회절 현상을 이용한 액정투사형 표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 상부전극패턴과 하부전극패턴은 스트라잎 형태를 가지는 것을 특징으로 하는 광회절 현상을 이용한 액정투사형 표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 상부전극패턴과 하부전극패턴은 상호 1/2 피치만큼 시프트되어 배치되는 것을 특징으로 하는 광회절 현상을 이용한 액정투사형 표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 상부전극패턴들 및 하부전극패턴들 각각의 전극폭은 5∼10μm이고,상기 상부전극패턴들 사이 또는 하부전극패턴들 사이의 전극간 간격은 15∼30μm인 것을 특징으로 하는 광회절 현상을 이용한 액정투사형 표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 액정은 옵티컬리 컴펜세이티드 바이리프리젼트(OCB) 모드의 액정인 것을 특징으로 하는 광회절 현상을 이용한 액정투사형 표시장치.
- 제 6 항에 있어서,상기 전면기판 및 배면기판 각각에 형성되어 상기 액정을 평행배향시키는 배향막을 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광회절 현상을 이용한 액정투사형 표시장치.
- 제 7 항에 있어서,상기 액정에는 광중합체가 첨가되는 것을 특징으로 하는 광회절 현상을 이용한 액정투사형 표시장치.
- 제 8 항에 있어서,상기 전면기판에 형성되어 상기 액정분자들을 활모양의 OCB 모드로 회전시키기 위한 상부보조전극과;상기 배면기판에 형성되어 상기 상부보조전극과 함께 상기 액정분자들을 활모양의 OCB 모드로 회전시키기 위한 하부보조전극을 추가로 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광회절 현상을 이용한 액정투사형 표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 전면기판과 배면기판 각각에 형성되고 배향방향이 서로 직교하도록 러빙되는 배향막을 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광회절 현상을 이용한 액정투사형 표시장치.
- 제 10 항에 있어서,상기 액정에는 상기 배향막의 배향방향과 반대방향의 꼬임방향을 가지는 도펀트가 첨가되는 것을 특징으로 하는 광회절 현상을 이용한 액정투사형 표시장치.
