Claims (14)
- 액정 셀을 포함하는 투과형 액정 표시 패널;상기 액정 표시 패널의 측면들 중 한 면 이상에 배치된 광원; 및상기 액정 표시 패널의 시인(視認)측에 대향하는 배면측에 배치되고 광로 변환 경사면을 가져서 상기 광원으로부터의 입사광을 액정 표시 장치의 시인측으로 반사시키는 광로 변환 시이트를 포함하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 액정 표시 패널이 액정 셀의 한면 또는 양면에 배치된 편광판을 추가로 포함하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 액정 표시 패널이 액정 셀과 편광판 사이에 배치된 하나 이상의 위상차판을 추가로 포함하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 액정 표시 패널이 액정 셀을 지지하기 위한 셀 기판을 추가로 포함하되, 상기 셀 기판이 광학 등방성 재료로 제조되는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,상기 광로 변환 시이트가 각각 시이트 평면에 대해 35 내지 48° 범위의 경사각으로 경사져 있는 광로 변환 경사면을 갖고, 광로 변환 시이트의 경사면-형성 표면이 액정 표시 패널의 시인측에 대향하는 배면측에 위치하도록 액정 표시 패널에 접착층을 통해 결합되며, 광로 변환 시이트와 여기에 가장 근접한 셀 기판 중 하나 사이의 굴절률차가 0.15 이하인 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 5 항에 있어서,상기 광로 변환 시이트와 상기 가장 근접한 액정 셀 기판 사이의 굴절률차가 0.10 이하이고, 상기 접착층과 상기 가장 근접한 액정 셀 기판 사이의 굴절률차가 0.15 이하인 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 광로 변환 시이트가, 시이트 평면에 대해 35 내지 48°의 경사각으로 광원에 대면하는 광로 변환 경사면을 갖는 반복적 프리즘상 구조를 포함하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 7 항에 있어서,상기 광원에 대면하는 광로 변환 시이트의 광로 변환 경사면의 경사각이 시이트 평면에 대해 38 내지 45° 범위인 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 7 항에 있어서,상기 광로 변환 시이트의 각 프리즘상 구조가 각각 삼각형 단면 모양인 요면부로 이루어진 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 9 항에 있어서,상기 프리즘상 요면부가, 광원이 배치된 액정 표시 패널의 측면에 평행하거나 경사진 능선 방향으로 시이트의 한 쪽 말단으로부터 다른 쪽 말단까지 연장된 연속적인 홈들로 이루어진 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 7 항에 있어서,상기 프리즘상 구조가 요면부로 이루어지고, 상기 요면부가 불연속적인 홈들로 이루어지되, 상기 각 홈의 길이가 그의 깊이의 5 배 이상이고, 상기 홈의 길이 방향이 광원이 배치된 액정 표시 패널의 측면에 평행한 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 7 항에 있어서,상기 광로 변환 시이트의 각 프리즘상 구조가, 직사각형 단면 모양이며 광원에 대면하는 2개 이상의 광로 변환 경사면을 갖는 요면부 또는 철면부로 이루어진 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 광로 변환 시이트의 시인측에 대향하는 배면측에 배치된 반사층을 추가로 포함하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 13 항에 있어서,상기 반사층이 광로 변환 경사면이 형성된 광로 변환 시이트의 표면에 밀착되어 있는 액정 표시 장치.
