Claims (9)
- 액정표시장치의 데이터 구동회로에 있어서,입력되는 디지털 데이터를 풀 컬러로 표시할 것인지 또는 8 컬러로 표시할 것인지 제어하는 컬러 변환 제어 신호 제공부와,쉬프트 레지스터와,상기 디지털 데이터가 상기 쉬프트 레지스터에 의해 샘플링되어 저장되며, 다수의 래치로 구성된 래치부와,상기 샘플링된 디지털 데이터를 아날로그 신호로 변환하고, 이를 증폭하여 출력하는 디지털 아날로그 변환기 및 앰프와,상기 8 컬러를 표시하기 위한 블랙 신호 레벨 및 화이트 신호 레벨에 해당하는 아날로그 신호를 생성하는 아날로그 신호 제공부와,상기 블랙 신호 레벨 또는 화이트 신호 레벨에 해당하는 아날로그 신호 중 하나를 선택하는 선택기와,상기 출력된 아날로그 신호를 이에 대응하는 데이터 라인으로 공급하는 멀티플렉서를 포함하고,상기 선택기는, 상기 다수의 래치 중 어느 하나의 래치로부터 출력된 디지털 데이터에 따라 상기 블랙 신호 레벨 또는 화이트 신호 레벨에 해당하는 아날로그 신호 중 하나를 선택하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 데이터 구동회로.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 풀 컬러로 표시하는 것은 동화상이고, 8 컬러로 표시하는 것은 정지 화상임을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 데이터 구동회로.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 래치부는, 상기 쉬프트 레지스터의 쉬프트 펄스에 의해 입력되는 디지털 데이터가 순차적으로 샘플링 되도록 하는 제 1래치부와,상기 모든 샘플링이 종료된 뒤 라인 패스 신호에 의해 상기 샘플링된 디지털 데이터가 한꺼번에 전달되어 저장되는 제 2래치부로 구성됨을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 데이터 구동회로.
- 제 1항에 있어서,컬러 변환 제어 신호 제공부에 의해 입력되는 디지털 데이터가 8 컬러로 표시되는 경우에는, 상기 래치부의 어느 하나의 래치와, 아날로그 신호 제공부와, 선택기와, 멀티플렉서가 동작됨을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 데이터 구동회로.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 어느 하나의 래치는 상기 입력된 디지털 데이터의 최상위 비트만을 샘플링하여 상기 선택기에 공급함을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 데이터 구동회로.
- 제 5항에 있어서,상기 샘플링된 최상위 비트 디지털 데이터의 하이(high) 또는 로우(low) 여부에 따라 상기 아날로그 신호 제공부에서 생성되는 블랙 신호 레벨 또는 화이트 신호 레벨에 해당하는 아날로그 신호가 각각 상기 선택기에 의해 선택되어 멀티플렉서로 공급됨을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 데이터 구동회로.
- 제 1항에 있어서,컬러 변환 제어 신호 제공부에 의해 입력되는 디지털 데이터가 풀 컬러로 표시되는 경우에는, 상기 쉬프트 레지스터와, 래치부와, 디지털 아날로그 변환기 및 앰프와, 멀티플렉서가 동작됨을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 데이터 구동회로.
- 복수의 데이터라인에 대응되어 입력되는 디지털 데이터가 샘플링되어 저장되는 단계와,상기 입력되는 디지털 데이터에 대한 영상의 컬러 모드를 결정하는 단계와,상기 컬러 모드가 8 컬러 모드인 경우 상기 입력되는 디지털 데이터 중 어느 하나의 데이터라인에 대응된 데이터라인의 최상위 비트만이 선택되는 단계와,상기 최상위 비트의 하이 또는 로우 여부에 대응하여 블랙 신호 레벨 또는 화이트 신호 레벨의 아날로그 신호가 선택되어 각 데이터라인으로 출력되는 단계가 포함되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 데이터 구동회로 구동방법.
- 제 8항에 있어서,상기 8 컬러 모드인 경우, 적색, 녹색 및 청색 각각에 대해 블랙 신호 레벨 및 화이트 신호 레벨을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 데이터 구동회로 구동방법.
