- 알칼리 할로겐나이드 수용액으로부터 할로겐가스를 제조하기 위한 전해장치에 있어서,스택 내에 나란히 배열되고 전기적으로 접속되어 있는 복수의 판형상 전해셀을 구비하며,상기 전해셀 각각은 하우징 내에 있으며, 상기 하우징은 적어도 하나의 하우징의 후방벽의 외측 상에 접촉띠를 구비하는 도전성 재료로 이루어진 2 개의 세미-쉘 (semi-shell) 을 구비하며,상기 하우징은 셀 전류 및 전해 공급재료용의 공급장치, 및 상기 셀 전류 및 전해 생성물을 방출하는 디바이스를 구비하며,상기 디바이스는 각각 실질적으로 수평한 표면을 갖고, 격벽에 의해 서로 분리되어 있으며, 서로 병렬로 배열되고, 그리고 금속 보강부재에 의해 상기 각각의 하우징의 후방벽에 전기적으로 접속되는 애노드 및 캐소드를 구비하며,상기 금속 보강부재는 상기 접촉띠와 같은 높이이고, 측부 에지가 상기 후방벽의 전체 높이 및 상기 애노드와 캐소드의 전체 높이에 이르는 고체판 형태인 것을 특징으로 하는 전해장치.
- 제 12 항에 있어서,상기 고체판은 어떤 평면상에서도 개구부 또는 슬릿을 갖지 않는 것을 특징으로 하는 전해장치.
- 제 12 항에 있어서,상기 고체판은 적어도 하나의 평면상에서 개구부 또는 슬릿을 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전해장치.
- 제 14 항에 있어서,전해질이 상기 셀로 공급되는 인입 분배기를 더 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전해장치.
- 제 12 항에 있어서,상기 인입 분배기는 적어도 하나의 개구부를 갖고, 이 개구부를 통해 상기 전해질이 상기 세미-쉘의 각 세그먼트와 접촉할 수도 있고, 상기 개구부의 단면적의 합이 상기 인입 분배기의 단면적 이하인 것을 특징으로 하는 전해장치.
- 제 12 항에 있어서,상기 애노드 또는 캐소드는 도전성 2중 접속에 의해 상기 고체판에 접속되는 것을 특징으로 하는 전해장치.
- 제 12 항에 있어서,상기 접촉띠는 도전성 금속 3중 접속에 의해, 상기 후방벽과 그 아래의 고체판에 일체로 결합되는 것을 특징으로 하는 전해장치.
- 제 12 항에 있어서,상기 각각의 후방벽은 도전성 금속 2중 접속에 의해 상기 고체판에 일체로 결합되는 것을 특징으로 하는 전해장치.
- 제 12 항에 있어서,상기 접촉띠는 상기 후방벽에 조립 (built-up) 용접되는 것을 특징으로 하는 전해장치.
- 제 12 항에 있어서,상기 애노드 세미-쉘은 할로겐 및 염 (salt) 용액에 대해 내성이 있는 하나 이상의 재료로 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 전해장치.
- 제 12 항에 있어서,상기 캐소드 세미-쉘은 강 알칼리성 용액에 대해 내성이 있는 하나 이상의 재료로 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 전해장치.
- 도전성 재료로 이루어진 2개의 세미-쉘을 함께 조인함으로써 개별 전해 셀을 어셈블링하여 적어도 하나의 후방벽의 외측 상에 접촉띠를 갖는 하우징을 형성하는 단계;상기 하우징에 셀 전류 및 전해 공급재료용의 공급장치를 구비시키는 단계;적어도 하나의 실질적으로 수평한 표면을 각각 갖는 애노드 및 캐소드를 상기 하우징내에 위치시키는 단계;상기 애노드 및 캐소드를 병렬로 위치시키고 격벽에 의해 상기 애노드 및 캐소드를 분리시키는 단계;전체 측부 에지에 따라 상기 애노드, 또는 상기 캐소드에 부착되는 고체 금속판 형태의 금속 보강부재에 의해 각각의 하우징의 후방벽에 상기 애노드 및 캐소드를 전기적으로 접속시키는 단계;상기 금속 보강부재와 각각의 후방벽 및 상기 애노드 또는 캐소드 사이의 접속을 환원성 신터링 공정 또는 용접 공정에 의해 형성하는 단계;상기 애노드 및 캐소드를 상기 하우징에 전기적으로 접속하는 단계; 및복수의 어셈블리된 전해 셀을 스택 내에 나란히 위치시키고 함께 고정하여 상기 셀 사이의 접촉을 유지하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전해 장치의 제조 방법.
- 제 23 항에 있어서,상기 용접공정은 레이저 빔 용접 공정인 것을 특징으로 하는 전해 장치의 제조 방법.
- 제 24 항에 있어서,상기 레이저 빔은 용접 방향에 수직으로 편광되어서, 비드의 상부 폭 대 접합 영역에서의 폭의 비율이 낮아지는 것을 특징으로 하는 전해 장치의 제조 방법.
- 제 23 항 또는 제 24 항에 있어서,상기 레이저 빔은 광학 미러 어셈블리에 의해 형성되어 선택 가능한 비율의 변위를 갖는 빔의 2개의 초점을 생성하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전해 장치의 제조 방법.
- 제 24 항에 있어서,상기 레이저 빔은 스캐너 드라이브, 바람직하게는 고주파수에서 동작하는 압전 석영 소자를 이용하여 용접 방향과 직각으로 선택 가능한 비율로 주사되는 것을 특징으로 전해 장치의 제조 방법.
