- 차량용 다단계 에어백 팽창기에 있어서,(a) 서로 인접한 불투과성 격벽에 의해 분리된 적어도 2개의 챔버로 분할된 하우징과,(b) 상기 적어도 2개의 챔버 중 하나 내에 제공된 고체상의 가스 생성 재료를 수용하는 제 1 연소 챔버와,(c) 상기 적어도 2개의 챔버 중 다른 하나 내에 제공되는 고체상의 가스 생성 재료를 수용하는 제 2 연소 챔버와,(d) 상기 제 1 연소 챔버 내의 가스 생성 재료를 점화하기 위한 제 1 점화 수단과,(e) 상기 제 1 연소 챔버와 결합된 제 1 여과/냉각 챔버와,(f) 상기 제 2 연소 챔버 내의 가스 생성 재료를 점화하기 위한 제 2 점화 수단과,(g) 상기 제 2 연소 챔버와 결합된 제 2 여과/냉각 챔버와,(h) 상기 제 1 및 제 2 여과/냉각 챔버에 있고 포일로 밀봉된 구멍을 포함하며,상기 여과/냉각 챔버는 상기 연소 챔버와 상기 격벽 사이에 위치되며, 상기 여과/냉각 챔버, 연소 챔버 및 격벽은 상기 고체상의 가스 생성 재료에 의해 발생된 가스가 상기 격벽상에 충돌하기 전에 상기 연소 챔버로부터 상기 여과/냉각 챔버를 통해 이동하도록 하는 위치 관계에 있는다단계 에어백 팽창기.
