- 일측에서 제1기판이 제2기판에 비해 돌출되며, 대응되는 타측에서 제2기판이 제1기판에 비해 돌출되도록 서로 대향하여 합착된 액정 패널과; 상기 액정 패널의 제1기판과 제2기판이 돌출된 영역을 지지하는 메인 지지대와; 상기 메인 지지대에 부착되어 상기 액정 패널의 상면 가장자리를 눌러 고정시키는 탑 케이스를 구비하여 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시장치.
- 제 6 항에 있어서, 상기 액정 패널의 배면에 구비되어 상기 메인 지지대에 지지되는 도광판과; 상기 도광판의 적어도 일측면에 구비된 램프와; 상기 도광판의 배면에 구비된 반사판과; 상기 액정 패널과 도광판 사이에 구비된 광학시트 및 보호시트로 구성되는 백라이트 어셈블리를 더 구비하여 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시장치.
- 제 6 항에 있어서, 상기 제1기판과 제2기판은 각각 박막 트랜지스터 어레이 기판과 컬러필터 기판인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시장치.
- 제 8 항에 있어서, 상기 박막 트랜지스터 기판의 돌출된 영역에 게이트 패드부나 데이터 패드부 중의 하나가 형성된 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시장치.
- 제 6 항에 있어서, 상기 제2기판의 돌출된 영역에 빛샘 방지막이 형성된 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시장치.
- 제 10 항에 있어서, 상기 빛샘 방지막은 블랙 매트릭스인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시장치.
