Abstract
Description
Claims (26)
- 일면에 상부 전극이 형성되고 그 위에 수직 배향막이 덮힌 상부기판;상기 상부기판의 일면과 마주보는 일면에 하부 전극이 형성되고, 그 위에 원형 대칭의 다중배향 어레이가 형성된 제 1 배향막이 적층된 하부 기판; 및상기 상부기판가 하부 기판 사이에 주입된 유전 이방성을 갖는 액정을 구비한 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 제 1 배향막 상에 수직배향의 제 2 배향막이 적층되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 기판의 수직축에 대한 액정의 기울기인 선경사각이 0도 이상 9도 이하인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 원형 대칭의 다중배향 어레이는 광반응성 수지로 자외선영역에서 흡수파장대역을 가지며, 가시광선영역에서 높은 투과율을 가지며, 상기 액정의 정상 굴절율과 상기 광반응성 수지의 굴절률의 차이가 3%미만으로 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 원형 대칭의 다중배향 어레이의 표면 굴곡은 사인함수의 제곱형태의 모양을 가지는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 다중배향 어레이의 주기는 단위화소에 대응하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 6 항에 있어서, 상기 원형 대칭의 다중배향 어레이의 굴곡 높이는 자외선의 에너지로 조절하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 제 1 배향막의 두께는 수백 ㎚ 이하인 것을 특징으로하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 액정은 음의 유전 이방성을 가진 네마틱 액정인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 직교하는 편광판이 상기 상부 기판 및 상기 하부 기판의 외측면에 각각 부착되고, 배면광원이 사용되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 10 항에 있어서, 상기 상부 및 하부 기판의 각각의 외측면과 각각의 편광판 사이에 추가의 광보상 필름이 삽입되고, 상기 광보상 필름의 광축이 편광판의 광축과 45도를 이루는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 상부 및 하부 기판중 어느 하나의 기판의 내측면 또는 외측면에 반사판을 형성하고, 다른 하나의 기판의 외측면에 편광판을 부착하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 12 항에 있어서, 상기 다른 하나의 기판과 편광판 사이에 추가의 광보상 필름이 삽입되고, 상기 광보상 필름의 광축이 편광판의 광축과 45도를 이루는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 일면에 상부 전극이 형성되고 그 위에 수평 배향막이 덮힌 상부기판;상기 상부기판의 일면과 마주보는 일면에 하부 전극이 형성되고, 그 위에 원형 대칭의 다중배향 어레이가 형성된 제 1 배향막이 적층된 하부 기판; 및상기 상부기판가 하부 기판 사이에 주입된 유전 이방성을 갖는 액정을 구비한 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 14 항에 있어서, 상기 제 1 배향막 상에 수직배향의 제 2 배향막이 적층되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 14 항에 있어서, 상기 기판의 수직축에 대한 액정의 기울기인 선경사각이 0도 이상 9도 이하인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 14 항에 있어서, 상기 원형 대칭의 다중배향 어레이는 광반응성 수지로 자외선영역에서 흡수파장대역을 가지며, 가시광선영역에서 높은 투과율을 가지며, 상기 액정의 정상 굴절율과 상기 광반응성 수지의 굴절률의 차이가 3%미만으로 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.

- 제 14 항에 있어서, 상기 상부 및 하부 기판 중 어느 하나의 기판의 내측면 또는 외측면에 반사판을 형성하고, 다른 하나의 기판의 외측면에 편광판을 부착하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 25 항에 있어서, 상기 다른 하나의 기판과 편광판 사이에 추가의 광보상 필름이 삽입되고, 상기 광보상 필름의 광축이 편광판의 광축과 45도를 이루는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
