Abstract

본 발명은 TV수신 중 화면의 특정부분을 인터넷 브라우저로 활용하는 TV 겸용 인터넷 TV에 관한 것으로서, 화면의 일정부분에 인터넷정보를 디스플레이하는 TV수상기; 인터넷 정보를 받을 수 있는 모뎀; 및 상기 모뎀을 통해 인터넷 정보를 수신 및 가공하여 상기 TV수상기에 전달하며, 사용자가 원하는 정보에 대한 요구사항을 인터넷정보를 서비스하는 회사에 전달하는 셋톱박스를 포함함이 바람직하다.
본 발명에 의하면, TV를 시청하면서 동시에 화면의 브라우저 부분에서는 인터넷을 통해 전송되는 정보를 볼 수 있도록 하는 것은 물론 상기 브라우저를 통해 원하는 정보를 미리 예약하거나 관심있는 정보를 찾아갈 수 있다.

Description

TV 겸용 인터넷 TV
본 발명은 TV수신 중 화면의 특정부분을 인터넷 브라우저로 활용하는 것에 관한 것으로서, TV를 시청하면서 동시에 화면의 브라우저 부분에서는 인터넷을 통해 전송되는 정보를 볼 수 있도록 하는 것은 물론 상기 브라우저를 통해 원하는 정보를 미리 예약하거나 관심있는 정보를 찾아갈 수 있게 하는 TV 겸용 인터넷 TV 에 관한 것이다.
일반적으로 TV를 통해서는 TV 프로그램을 보고, 인터넷(internet)을 통해서는 개인용컴퓨터(PC) 상에서 정보를 볼 수 있으나, TV를 보는 동시에 상기 TV화면의 일부분에서 인터넷을 통한 정보를 보여 브라우징(browsing)하는 기능은 없다. 또한 PC보다 TV에 익숙한 사람들에게 방송(Broadcasting)의 일방적인 정보가 아닌 대화적인(interactive) 정보를 제공할 수 있게 하는 것이 필요하다.
본 발명은 일반적인 가전제품인 TV에 인터넷이란 네트웍을 연결하여 TV를 보며 동시에 TV 화면의 특정부분에서 인터넷 정보를 볼 수 있게 하는 TV 겸용 인터넷 TV를 제공함에 그 목적이 있다.
도 1은 본 발명의 전체적인 구성을 블록도로 도시한 것이다.
도 2는 셋톱박스에 설치되는 소프트웨어의 구성을 블록도로 도시한 것이다.
도 3은 본 발명의 동작을 흐름도로 도시한 것이다.
상기의 목적을 달성하기 위한 본 발명에 따른, TV 겸용 인터넷 TV는 화면의 일정부분에 인터넷정보를 디스플레이하는 TV수상기; 인터넷 정보를 받을 수 있는 모뎀; 및 상기 모뎀을 통해 인터넷 정보를 수신 및 가공하여 상기 TV수상기에 전달하며, 사용자가 원하는 정보에 대한 요구사항을 인터넷정보를 서비스하는 회사에 전달하는 셋톱박스를 포함함이 바람직하다.
그리고 상기 셋톱박스 상에서 운용되는 소트웨어는 응용 소프트웨어를 제어하는 셋톱 운영체제; 데이터 통신을 담당하는 TCP/IP; 인터넷상의 정보를 브라우징하는 브라우저; 및 상기 서비스회사가 보내준 정보를 TV에 가공된 형태로 보여주는 인터넷 서비스 프로그램을 포함함이 바람직하다.
이하에서 첨부된 도면을 참조하여 본 발명을 상세히 설명한다. 우선 본 발명이 실시되기 위해서는 일반 가정용 TV가 데이터 통신망과 연결되어 데이터를 수신하여 이를 디스플레이시킬 수 있는 데이터 수신 기능이 있는 TV가 있어야 한다. 또한 방송국의 방송을 디스플레이하면서, 특정부분은 상기 데이터 통신망을 통해 수신되는 정보를 디스플레이하는 일종의 PIP(Picture In Picture) 기능도 가지고 있어야 함을 전제로 한다.
도 1은 본 발명의 전체적인 구성을 블록도로 도시한 것으로서, TV수상기(100), 셋톱박스(set-top box:110) 및 모뎀(120)을 포함하여 이루어진다. 상기 TV수상기(100)은 사용자 입력을 받을 수 있으며, 화면의 일정부분, 여기서는 TV화면의 하단에 인터넷정보를 디스플레이한다. 상기 셋톱박스(110)는 서비스를 송수신하는 블록으로서, 모뎀(120)을 통해 인터넷 정보를 수신 및 가공하여 상기 TV수상기(100)에 전달하며, 사용자가 원하는 정보에 대한 요구사항을 인터넷정보를 서비스하는 서비스회사(미도시)에 전달한다. 상기 모뎀(120)은 데이터 통신망을 통한 정보를 송수신하는 모듈로서 통상의 모뎀을 말한다.
그리고 도 2는 상기 셋톱박스(110)에 설치되는 소프트웨어의 구성을 도시한 것으로서, 상기 셋톱 소프트웨어는 먼저 여러 응용 소프트웨어를 제어할 수 있는 셋톱 운영체제(200)가 최상위에 존재하며, 그 다음에는 통신에 필요한 소프트웨어인 TCP/IP(210)가 상주한다. 그 아래에는 인터넷을 돌아다닐 수 있는 브라우저(220)가 내장되고, 최하위에는 사용자가 입력한 정보를 서비스회사에 보내주고 서비스 회사가 보내준 정보를 TV에 가공된 형태로 보여줄 수 있는 인터넷 서비스 프로그램(230)이 위치한다.
도 3은 본 발명의 동작을 흐름도로 도시한 것으로서, 도 3을 참조하여 본 발명의 동작을 설명하기로 한다. 먼저 사용자는 미리 원하는 정보를 리모콘 등을 통해 예약한다.(300단계) 상기 예약된 정보는 셋톱박스(110)안의 서비스 프로그램을 통해 서비스를 제공하는 회사에 전송된다.(310단계) 그리고 서비스 회사는 예약된 정보를 계속해서 셋톱박스(110)에 보내준다.(320단계) 사용자는 원하는 정보를 예약할 수도 있지만, 긴급하고 중요한 정보는 서비스회사로부터 브로드캐스트(broadcast) 형태로 받기도 한다.(330단계) 또는 인터넷에 연결되어 있기 때문에 전자메일로 받을 수 있다. 셋톱박스(110)는 받은 정보를 가공하여 TV수상기(100)로 전송하여(340단계), TV화면의 하단부에 정보를 디스플레이 한다.(350단계) 만일 메일이 도착하면 메일이 있다는 표시를 TV상에 표시한다.
한편 TV에 인터넷 정보가 흐르고 있을 때 사용자가 원하는 정보를 리모콘을 통해 지정하면, 셋톱박스(110)는 이를 받아 서비스 회사에게 정보를 요구하여 TV화면에 표시한다.
본 발명에 의하면, TV를 시청하면서 동시에 화면의 브라우저 부분에서는 인터넷을 통해 전송되는 정보를 볼 수 있도록 하는 것은 물론 상기 브라우저를 통해 원하는 정보를 미리 예약하거나 관심있는 정보를 찾아갈 수 있다.

Claims (2)

  1. 화면의 일정부분에 인터넷정보를 디스플레이하는 TV수상기;
    인터넷 정보를 받을 수 있는 모뎀; 및
    상기 모뎀을 통해 인터넷 정보를 수신 및 가공하여 상기 TV수상기에 전달하며, 사용자가 원하는 정보에 대한 요구사항을 인터넷정보를 서비스하는 회사에 전달하는 셋톱박스를 포함함을 특징으로 하는 TV 겸용 인터넷 TV.
  2. 상기 셋톱박스 상에서 운용되는 소트웨어는
    응용 소프트웨어를 제어하는 셋톱 운영체제;
    데이터 통신을 담당하는 TCP/IP;
    인터넷정보를 브라우징하는 브라우저; 및
    상기 서비스회사가 보내준 정보를 TV에 가공된 형태로 보여주는 인터넷 서비스 프로그램을 포함함을 특징으로 하는 TV 겸용 인터넷 TV.
