Abstract

The index process apparatus is connected between the internal compensation portion and the MODEM through a data MUX, and repeatedly record entire index data on an entire tracks of the tape by isolating by a constant unit or output by processing by OSD the corresponding index data by the index data search of an user. Thus, index data can be recorded on or played back from the dummy data area of each track.
