Claims (2)
- 동영상 신호를 N×N 픽셀로 구성된 블럭단위로 입력받고, 입력된 현재 처리블럭의 행과 열별로 합상된 픽셀값의 분산을 계산하여, 그 결과로 얻은 수평방향 분산값을 출력하는 분산 계산부(100)와; 상기 분산 계산부(100)로부터 제공되는 수평방향 분산값과 수직방향 분산값을 비교하고, 상기 수평방향 분산값과 상기 수직방향 분산값이 거의 도일한 값일 경우 제1마스크 신호를 출력하고, 상기 수평방향 분산값이 상기 수직방향 분산값보다 기설정된 값 이상으로 클 경우 제2마스크 신호를 출력하며, 상기 수직방향 분산값이 상기 수평방향 분산값보다 기설정된 값 이상으로 클 경우 제3마스크 신호를 출력하는 마스크 종류 결정부(110)와; 상기 현재 처리할 블럭과 움직임 보상된 블럭을 입력받고, 입력된 상기 두 블럭의 차분신호를 검출하여 출력하는 연산부(120)와; 상기 연산부(120)로부터 제공된 차분신호를 이산 코사인 변환하고, 그 결과로 얻은 N×N 변환계수로 구성된 변환계수 블럭을 출력하는 이산 코사인 변환부(130)와; 상기 이산 코사인 변환부(130)로부터 변환계수 블럭을 입력받고, 상기 제1마스크 신호에 응답하여 상기 변환계수 블럭을 모두 출력하며, 상기 제2마스크 신호에 응답하여 상기 변환계수 블럭중 (N/m)×N의 변환계수만을 출력하고, 상기 제3마스크 신호에 응답하여 상기 변환계수 블럭중 N×(N/m)의 변환계수만을 출력하는 마스크부(140)와; 상기 마스크부(140)로부터 제공되는 변환계수를 양자화하여 출력하는 양자화부(150)를 포함하며, 상기 N,m은 양의 정수이고, 상기 m은 N 이하인 것을 특징으로 하는 동영상 부호화 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 마스크 결정부(110)는 상기 수평방향 분산값과 수직방향 분산값이 거이 동일한 값일 경우, 상기 두 분산값의 합이 기설정치 이상일때 제1마스크 신호를 출력하고, 반대의 경우 제4마스크 신호를 출력하고, 상기 마스크부(140)는 상기 제4마스크 신호에 응답하여, 상기 변환계수 블럭중 N/2×N/2의 변환계수만을 출력하는 것을 특징으로 하는 동영상 부호화 장치.
