본 고안은 타이어 트레드부의 그루브나 사이프(SIPE)를 그 상부폭 보다 하부폭을 좁게 형성화여 눈길에서의 제동이나 주행 시에 그립력을 향상시킨 스노우용 타이어에 관한 것이다.The present invention relates to a tire for snow, in which grooves or sipes of a tire tread portion are formed to have a lower width than an upper width thereof to improve grip force during braking or driving on snow roads.
종래의 스노우 타이어는 눈길 및 빙판길에서의 그립력을 향상시키기 위해 트레드 블락 내부에 차량 진행 방향에 수직으로 많은 사이프를 주거나, 트레드 컴파운드를 특수컴파운드로 사용하거나, 크기가 작은 트레드블락을 상대적으로 많이 배치시키는 방법이 이용되었다. 이러한 스노우용 타이어는 일반적으로 제동시 트레드 블락의 모서리 부분이 지면에 닿아 눈을 긁으면서 제동이 되게 되는데 종래의 스노우용 타이어는 모두 그루브나 사이프가 타이어 원주에 수직방향으로 형성되어 있어 접지 부분이 날카롭지 못한 경향이 있었다. 따라서 본 고안에서는 타이어의 그루브를 그 하부폭을 상부폭 보다 좁게 형성하여 제동시 힘을 받아 기울어 지면서 접지 부분이 더욱 뾰족하게 돌출되도록 함으로써 그립력을 보강하는데 본 고안의 목적이 있다.Conventional snow tires provide a large amount of sipe in the tread block vertically in the direction of vehicle travel, use a special compound as a compound, or place a relatively large number of small tread blocks to improve grip on snow and ice.
