본 고안은 강관과 합성수지관의 접속용으로 특히 적합한 관접속용 링패킹에 관한 것이다. 이 분야에 관련된 선행기술로서는 일본국 실개 소57-80783호, 동 60-67489호가 있다. 전자의 선행기술은 포켓부만으로 된 링패킹이고, 후자는 반원형 단면을 가진 링패킹을 적용하고 있다. 그러나 전자의 링패킹은 접속단 부근에 관계수의 걸림돌기가 끼어 걸리는 환상오목홈을 가진 강관과 강관과의 접속용으로는 유효하지만 그러한 강관과 접속단 부근에 환상오목홈을 부여하기 곤란한 합성수지관과의 접속용으로는 부적합하다. 한쪽을 강관에 끼우면 나머지 한쪽은 합성수지관을 끼워야 하는데, 합성수지관을 끼우는 부분의 내주면이 좁은 폭을 갖고 있어서 합성수지관을 수밀적으로 붙잡아주는 힘이 약한데다 강관과 합성수지관의 팽창계수가 달라 합성수지관에 수축변화가 왔을 때 링패킹이 그 수축변화에 능동적으로 따라 가지 못함으로써 틈이 벌어지고 이 틈으로 누압, 누수현상이 발생할 가능성이 농후하기 때문이다. 후자의 링패킹은 관의 접속단이 서로 겹친 경우에 적용하는 것이지 관계수와 관 접속용 수밀재로는 부적합하다. 따라서, 본 고안의 목적은 합성수지관의 외주면쪽으로 가해지는 관계수의 압박에 따른 밀착성이 우수하여 강관과 합성수지관과의 접속에서 큰 효과가 나타나는 관접속용 링패킹을 제공하는 것이다. 포켓부로 된 통상의 링패킹에 있어서, 본 고안은 링패킹의 한쪽 측면에서 외측으로 역테이퍼진 확개부를 연장 형성하여 합성수지관에 접촉면적을 넓힘과 동시에 압박력을 강화한 관접속용 링패킹을 제공한다.The present invention relates to a ring seal for pipe connection, which is particularly suitable for the connection of steel pipes and synthetic resin pipes.
