Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition containing specific amounts of a specific ampholytic surfactant, a specific polypeptide, stearyl alcohol and behenyl alcohol and having excellent pearl luster, storage stability and hair- conditioning effect. CONSTITUTION:A shampoo containing an anionic surfactant and/or ampholytic surfactant as a substrate is compounded with (A) at least one kind of ampholytic surfactant of formula (R is 11-21C long-chain alkyl), (B) a polypeptide having an average molecular weight of 200-5,000, (C) stearyl alcohol and (D) behenyl alcohol as essential components. The amounts of the components A, B, C and D are 1.0-6wt.%, 1.0-12wt.%, 0.5-50wt.% and 0.75-7.5wt.%, respectively and the weight ratio of C:D is 1:(1.15-4.5). The shampoo composition produced by this process has beautiful appearance and excellent storage stability, is capable of imparting pearl luster to hair and has excellent hair-conditioning effect.
