Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve reliability of operation by judging integrity of a sensor based on a sensor output at a predetermined steering wheel angle for producing a marker signal, and making judgement through two series of means for producing marker signals and sensor outputs. CONSTITUTION:Two marker output means (b) for producing marker signals when the rotary position of a steering wheel (a) reaches to a position of predetermined steering wheel angle or when the actual steering angle reaches to a predetermined steering angle are provided. When a marker signal is outputted from the marker output means (b), a valve detected through the steering angle detecting means (c) is compared with a predetermined steering wheel angle through a judging means (d), and a detection value approximately matches with the predetermined steering wheel angle or steering angle is judged to be a normal value. Then a selecting means (e) selects a detection value of the steering angle detecting means (c) at normal side based on the result of judgement of the judging means (d) and outputs the selected value.
