Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent breaking of an inflation regulating member by forming a random number of inflation regulating members for an air bag body so that inner stress due to ejection of gas flow is low at joints with fixing members for the inflation regulating members and high at other points. CONSTITUTION:An air bag 1 comprises an air bag body 3, fixing sections 4A, 4B fixed respectively to gas flow-in side G1 and gas collision side G2 and six strip type inflation regulating members 5 fixed between the fixing members 4A, 4B. The fixing member 4A at gas flow-in side is constructed with upper and lower basic members 8, 9 having deformed dodecagonal shape and an annular member 10 arranged between the second base member 9 and the air bag body 3, with one ends of the inflation regulating member 5 being stitched to six projecting areas of the base materials 7, 8. Respective inflation regulating members 5 are formed into dumbbell shape which widens from narrow central section toward opposite end sections in order to reduce inner stress at joints with respective base members 7, 8.
