Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent faulty operation due to vibration of a vehicle on the road and enable suspension constants of being changed under constant proper control by determining the roll condition of the vehicle on the basis of both the revolution speeds of left and right wheels and the ground heights at the left and right sides of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION:Signals of revolution speeds given from wheel speed sensors 1 and 2 which are mounted at the left and right front wheels are detected by pick-ups 3 and 4 and sent to wave forming circuits 5 and 6 and wheel speed operating circuits 7 and 8, respectively, to compute the wheel speeds of the front and left wheels. Results from computation by the wheel speed operating circuits 7 and 8 are sent to processor 9. On the other hand, suspensions of the left and right wheels are equipped with ground height sensors 10 and 11, respectively and the results from detection by said sensors 10 and 11 are sent to said processor 9. In the processor 9, variation in difference between the wheel speeds at the specified processing intervals is evaluated, whereby determining a transient roll or a usual roll. Then, according to the result, a driving device 12 is controlled to drive a suspension constant changing means 13.
