Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a superoxide dismutase derivative containing an organic solvent extract of SENKYU (rhizome of Cnidium officinale) or TOKI (rhizome of Angelica acutiloba) and widely utilizable as a remedy or preventive for inflammation, ischemic diseases, aging, senile diseases, etc. CONSTITUTION:Rhizome, especially dried rhizome of SENKYU or TOKI is extracted with 1-20 times weight of an organic solvent at room temperature or under heating (30-70 deg.C) and the obtained extract is used as an active component. The amount of the extract is 0.001-10% when used in the form of an external drug to be applied to the skin, etc., and is 5mg-5g/kg-body weight in the case of using as a peroral drug or injection.
