Abstract

PURPOSE:To remove a spurious radiation to be generated by an N-fraction type divider and to obtain the frequency synthesizer of a low noise without the degradation of a phase noise by providing a voltage control type band filter to the rear step of the N-fraction type divider. CONSTITUTION:An output signal 8 of a voltage control oscillator 4 is divided with being time-serially switched to the integer number of a dividing ratio by an N-fraction type divider 5. The frequency step of the output signal 8 to a reference signal 1 depends on this switching timing. By the switching of the dividing ratio, the spurious radiation is generated in the output signal of the divider 5 with a frequency interval by relation between the frequency of the signal 1 and the switching timing. A voltage control band filter 6 causes only a frequency component which corresponds to the dividing ratio of the divider 5 of the output frequency of the oscillator 4, to pass through out of the output signals of the divider 5 and the other spurious radiation is inter rupted. The output of the filter 6 is phase-compared with the signal 1 by a phase comparator 2 and a voltage to correspond to a phase difference is outputted. Further, a direct current component is extracted by a loop filter 3 and goes to be the control voltage of the oscillator 4.
