Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain good dispersibility and output as well as excellent traveling durability by using a binder which contains 5X10<-3>-5X10<-2>(wt.%)/(m<2>/g) moisture per unit specific surface area of ferromagnetic powder to magnetic powder and at least 1X10<-5>eq/g polar group. CONSTITUTION:The binder which contains 5X10<-3>-5X10<-2>(wt.%)/(m<2>/g) moisture per unit specific surface area of the ferromagnetic powder to the magnetic powder and at least 1X10<-5>eq/g polar group is used in the magnetic recording medium formed by providing a magnetic layer disposed with the ferromagnetic material which is hexagonal planar shape and has an axis of easy magnetization in the direction perpendicular to the flat plate face into the binder on a nonmagnetic base. The magnetic recording medium which is improved in the dispersibility and the reproduced output as well as the traveling durability is thereby obtd.
