Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent erroneous operation an air conditioner by a method wherein if an abnormal signal receiving state for data from an outdoor unit is generated during a communication of various operation information data between the indoor unit and the outdoor unit, this abnormal state is displayed by a displaying unit and various controlling power supplies for the indoor unit and the outdoor unit are terminated. CONSTITUTION:A serial data communication is carried out by an indoor transmittance and receiving device 4 and an outdoor transmittance and receiving device 9 between an indoor unit 20 having an indoor controlling micro-computer 22 and an outdoor unit 21 having an outdoor controlling micro-computer 25. Abnormal state of data communication is judged by processing 'abnormal judging routine' for the indoor unit 20 depending upon whether the data from the outdoor unit 2 is received or not and this is displayed at a displaying unit 23 and at the same time a supplying of power 1 supply is terminated under processing of 'an abnormal power supply controlling routine'. Accordingly, in case that abnormal state is generated in the serial data communication, it is possible to make a positive prevention of erroneous operation of the outdoor unit 2 and further it is facilitated to confirm whether the air conditioner is normally operated or not.
