Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce a superconductor having a uniform compsn. and an oxygen content stably set with high reproducibility by exposing a specified oxide substrate to an atmosphere contg. oxygen radicals. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of powdery starting materials such as Y2O3, CuO and BaO is molded and sintered at 800-900 deg.C to obtain an oxide substrate similar in compsn. and oxygen content to a desired superconductor. The oxide substrate is heated to 100-500 deg.C in an atmosphere contg. oxygen radicals generated by exciting oxygen or ozone with light.
