Abstract
PURPOSE:To surely detect residual item by a method wherein optical fibers on light emitting side are bundled at their one ends so as to make the incidence of light from a light emitting element possible and arranged in a band shape at their other ends and at the same time optical fibers on light receiving side are arranged in a band shape at their one ends and bundled at their other ends so as to detect the residual item in a mold by means of the band-shaped light. CONSTITUTION:The light, which is emitted from a light emitting diode 23 on light emitting side 21, is incident upon one end 11A of an optical fiber bundle 11 so as to be turned into the band-shaped light at the other end 11B in order to be irradiated to the other end 11B of the optical fibers on light receiving side 22. If residual items 28 present in a mold 27, a part of the band-shaped light is stopped. The output from the one end 11A on the light receiving side is received in the form of light by a phototransistor 25 so as to be inputted in a comparator in order to be compared with a reference level signal. If a controlling section judges the presence of the molded item left in the mold, the command inhibiting the transfer to the next cycle is issued.
