Abstract
PURPOSE:To protect a tapered section from being drawn out of a joint fitment and make a joint section adequately compact by making the length of the tapered section large by given times of the smallest diameter of the tapered section of a support bar consisting of a tapered section on which a joint fitment is installed. CONSTITUTION:A material of a fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) bar 1 is composed of a bundle of glass fibers solidified integrally with epoxy resin while being arranged in one direction, and the FRP bar 1 is manufactured by lathe processing said epoxy glass drawn bar. Both ends of the FRP drawn bar 1 form tapered sections 1a of truncated cone shape, and other central sections form round bar sections 1b. When the length of the tapered section 1a is set as l, the maximum diameter (diameter of end surface) of the tapered section 1a as D and the maximum diameter (diameter of tapered root section) as (d), the grade (D-d)/2l of the tapered section 1a is 1/50-1/10, while l/d is 2-6. While the value of l is limited small by making l/d 2-6, 50% or more 100% of tensile breaking load can be obtained.
