Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable easy conveyance of slurrylike coarse solid powder, by adding a stabilizer to fluid to be treated. CONSTITUTION:Slurry (suspension) in an agitating tank 13 is fed through a hose 14 to a jet nozzle 10 of a water jet device. Simultaneously, high pressure water is fed through a hose 12 to the nozzle 10, and the slurry is injected at a high speed through the nozzle 10 toward a material 11 to be cut to cut the material 11 to be cut. In this case, a solid and water slurry composition consists mainly of solid powder (fine grain polishing material 21), e.g., aluminum, one or two or more stabilizers selected from a group consisting of alkali metallic salt of caboxymethylcellulose, hydroxyethylecellulose, polyacrylic sodium, and water. As a result, the slurry can be easily conveyed to the nozzle 10 without using a special forced feed device, and spent slurry is returned from a catcher 16 through a concentration control tank 18 to the agitating tank 13 for the reuse.
