Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce deformation due to the electromagnetic force of a superconducting coil by installing a cooling pipe outside a coil vessel and cooling the superconducting coil through a heat transfer member. CONSTITUTION:A refrigerant is passed through a cooling pipe 3, and a superconducting coil 1 is cooled through a connecting piece section 4b and a drum section 4a in a heat transfer member 4 and brought to a superconductive state. The superconducting coil 1 is conducted under the state, thus acquiring a specified magnetic field. Electromagnetic force F works to the superconducting coil 1 in the direction of the arrow F at that time, but the cooling pipe 3 having a hollow section and low mechanical rigidity is mounted outside a coil vessel 2, thus reducing the deformation of the superconducting coil 1.
