Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of hardly dehydratable sludge by adding Ca<2+> to the activated sludge slurry obtd. by the biological nitrification and denitrification treatment of org. sewage, subjecting the slurry to a membrane sepn. at specific pH and bringing the water permeated through the membrane into contact with a calcium phosphate compd. CONSTITUTION:Night soil 1 subjected to scum removal is supplied without dilution to a biological nitrification and denitrification stage 2 and is subjected to the nitrification and denitrification stage to obtain the activated sludge slurry in the case of treating, for example, night soil. Ca<2+> 3 is added to this activated sludge slurry at a point such as denitrifying part 2'. This activated sludge slurry 4 is maintained at 7.0-10.0pH and is stagnated under stirring for more than several hours to form the precipitate of the calcium phosphate adsorbed with the COO components.
