Abstract

PURPOSE:To remote TOC with high efficiency by molding coarsely ground inorg. particles having 400-800mum average grain size via a binder to a plate shape while allowing to cavities to remain among the particles. CONSTITUTION:Chamotte and feldspar having 400-800mum average grain size are compounded and water is mixed with the mixture, then the plate body of said mixture is formed. The plate body is dried and calcined. Since the inorg. particles are used, biological affinity is exhibited if the plate body is formed in such a manner. Since the particles are the coarsely ground particles, the ruggedness on the surfaces thereof is large and the surface area increases so that the living things are well arrested. The particle size thereof is 400-800mum and, therefore, about 200-300mum cavities are made among the particles and the removal of the TOC with high efficiency is enabled.
