Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance heat exchange efficiency by reducing a blood stream flowing along the inner surface of the housing of a heat exchanger, by providing ribs, which extend in parallel to fine tubes facing to the inner surface of a housing and suppress the flow of blood between the fine tubes and the inner surface of the housing, to the inner surface of the housing. CONSTITUTION:The heat-exchanging fine tubes 3 used in a heat exchanger 1 are composed of metal tubes having high conductivity and received in a housing in parallel to the axial direction thereof. As a result, the blood flowing in from a blood inflow port flows so as to traverse the fine tubes 3. The inner surface of the housing 2 is provided with ribs 5 extending in the axial direction of the housing 2 in parallel to the fine tubes 3 and suppressing the flow of blood between the fine tubes 3 and the inner surface of the housing 2. By said ribs 5, the blood stream flowing along the inner surface of the housing 2 can be suppressed and, further, at least one rib 5 may be provided in the vicinity of the fine tubes 3 close to the blood inflow port 6. As a result, the heat exchange efficiency of blood can be enhanced.
