Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable recording using a single light source by producing a synchronization signal based on a light beam of a level not higher than necessary while scanning a recording material two-dimensionally, and controlling the energy of a light beam beyond a prearranged level based on information to be recorded and the synchronization signal. CONSTITUTION:A printing driver 54 outputs a laser beam output current for reading to a semiconductor laser driver 56 to cause projection of a laser beam for reading. Part of this laser beam is transmitted through a beam splitter 20 to be projected to a recording material 32. However, recording is not actually performed because the laser beam does not come upto a prearranged level. In addition, the laser beam for reading which is reflected by the beam splitter 20 is projected to a photodiode 26, where an output voltage complying with a transmission luminous energy generates and is output to a synchronization signal generator 44. As a result, a synchronization signal is produced and the energy of a light beam is increased beyond a prearranged level based on said synchronization signal and information to be recorded to generate a light beam for writing.
