Abstract
PURPOSE:To separate solid and liquid in suspension of the waste water at high speed by making the suspensions in raw water adhered to collecting materials, further collecting the suspensions while raising particles to which the suspensions are adhered by means of the upward flow of raw water and then reducing the upward flow speed of raw water. CONSTITUTION:Suspensions in raw water 1 fed from a feeding pipe into a vessel 3 are adhered to collecting materials 7 into the vessel 3. The particles with large diameters resulting from the adhered suspensions are raised by the upward flow of raw water 1 and further collected while being raised. After that, supernatant liquid and particles with adhered suspensions are separated by reducing the upward flow speed of raw water 1 by means of a double pipe structure at the upper section of the vessel 3. The suspensions out of the particles with adhered suspensions and collecting materials 7 discharged out of said vessel 3 by a discharge pipe 12 are separated in a separation storage tank 16 by utilizing the difference of gravity, and said separated collecting materials 7 are returned to the vessel 3 through a pipe 23 by the action of a pump 24, circulated and used.
