Abstract
PURPOSE:To form a thermally sprayed film having excellent adhesiveness by heating and cooling a high-hardness metal substrate having a martensite structure to specific temps., then thermally spraying a powder material thereto in the state of maintaining the substrate at above the martensite transformation initiation point. CONSTITUTION:The metal substrate 1, such as cutter contg. 0.4-6.67wt.% C, which has the high hardness of >=500 hardness Hv and has the martensite structure, is heated and cooled in a range within 10mum from the surface of the metal of the compsn. to the transformation point of either of the A3 transformation point or Acm transformation point of the metal for said compsn., by high-frequency induction heating, laser beam projection, electron beam projection, etc., by which the substrate is held at the martensite transformation initiation point or above and the surface layer part 2 is softened; thereafter, the surface is roughened by a blasting treatment. The thermally sprayed layer 3 which is the mixture composed of metals such as Fe, Co and Ni and the alloys thereof and hard ceramics 4 such as WC is then formed thereon. The thermally sprayed film having the excellent adhesiveness is easily formed on the surface of the high-hardness substrate 1.
