Abstract

PURPOSE:To secure the durability of a brake face and reduce power consumption by braking the rotary shaft of a motor used in a motor valve employing face contact by a magnetic brake operated on excitation, and connecting the motor and the brake to a power supply alternatively. CONSTITUTION:The rotational speed of a motor 1 is reduced via an intermediate reduction shaft 16, 17 and gears 13, 14, 15, and its torque is increased to be transmitted to a valve rod 11 to cause a valve body 13 to open. In this case, while electric current to the motor 1 is intercepted by a valve opening switch 5, power supply is changed over to the side of a magnetic brake 4. Hence a valve body 10 will hold a full opening condition by holding force due to the face contact of the magnetic valve 4 and a spring 7 attached to the intermediate reduction shaft 16, in the state of complete winding, is provided with a force in the direction of valve closing. Additionally, in power failure, current to the magnetic brake 4 is intercepted to cause the valve body 10 to close due to spring force.
