Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive far infrared radiating material, radiating heat rays effective for organisms in high radiation ratio, by blending SiO2 with Al2O3 and Fe2O3 in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:A far infrared radiating material comprising 50-85wt.% SiO2, 10-50wt.% Al2O3 and <=5wt.% Fe2O3. In the far infrared radiating material, especially the total ratio of SiO2 and Al2O3 is preferably >=90wt.%. When the total ratio of SiO2 and Al2O3 is <90wt.%, other components increase the material has tendency of specific radiating effects in the vicinity of 8-11mum. The material has preferably minimized content of impurity, preferably the total ratio of B2O3 and Cr2O3 is <=2wt.% and the total ratio of the alkali metal oxide and the alkaline earth metal oxide is <=3wt.%.
