Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a favorable display image by specifying the imidization ratio of a soluble polyimide. CONSTITUTION:The soluble polyimide is used as an orientation film and the imidization ratio of the soluble polyimide is set to >=20% and <=80%. Namely, since a polyamic acid remains in a film and it is difficult to accumulate charges in liquid crystal and the surface of the orientation film, flicker becomes very small. And since the orientation film has the effect of preventing the contamination of the liquid crystal caused by a small quantity of impurity ion and moisture, etc., or the impurity is adsorbed on the surface of the orientation film, a leakage current as an element is made small without lowering the resistance of the liquid crystal. Thus, the quality of display of the image can be improved and variance in production can be reduced.
