PURPOSE:To improve the graininess and the developing characteristic of the titled material by incorporating a hydrazide compd. which releases a photographically useful reagent by attaching the compd. with a nucleophilic reagent after oxidizing said compd. with an oxidant of a developing main reagent, in the titled material. CONSTITUTION:The titled material contains a photosensitive silver halide particle and a metal salt particle with fogged inner part, and also the hydazide compd. capable of releasing the photographically useful reagent by attacking said compd. with the nucleophilic reagent after oxidizing said compd. with the oxidant of a developing main agent. Namely, said compd. is the hydrazide compd. having its photographically useful group part coupled with a coupling group contg. an acidic group or the coupling group contg. an active methylene group substd. with the acidic group. Said hydrazide compd. releases the photographically useful group, as the result of cleavage of the bond with the photographic useful group by being attacked by the nucleophilic reagent, or by further reaction. Thus, the graininess of the titled material is improved, and the developing time of the titled material in a low temp. processing can be shortened.
