CONSTITUTION:By using a converter type vessel arranging side blowing nozzle 2 at position lower than the middle point to height direction and bottom blowing nozzle at the furnace bottom, the smelting reduction of ore is executed. When the smelting reduction completes, by tilting the furnace body 1 and also blowing inert gas (N2, etc.) from the side blowing nozzle 2, the slag B is removed. By this method, slag level at the furnace bottom side comes to high and only slag B can be smoothly and suitably removed from the furnace top opening part, and successively, the decarbonizing treatment is executed.
