Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily achieve, sure airtight sealing by loading a welded metal piece onto a crack part generated in welding sealing and carrying out laser beam welding, in the welding sealing of a metal cap onto a ceramic circuit board surface. CONSTITUTION:A metal cap 3 is arranged onto the surface of a ceramic circuit board 1 so that the opened surface and a welding ring 2 installed so as to surround a semiconductor element arrangement part contacting each other, and sealing is performed by the laser beam welding. When a crack 5 is generated at a welding part 4, a metal piece, e.g. the broken piece 8 of the cap 3 made of kovar is arranged at the part and fixed by an adhesive tape 9, and laser beam is selectively irradiated again for the kovar broken piece 8, which is molten, and the crack part 5 is filled with kovar, and a rewelded part 10 sealed airtightly is formed. Therefore, the sure airtight sealing can be achieved easily without deteriorating the outside appearance.
