Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance service to waiting passengers by detecting waiting passengers for each elevator, and guiding the passengers to another elevator if a hall call made by the waiting passengers is allocated to the elevator. CONSTITUTION: A group supervisory controller 1 uses waiting passenger detection devices 3A-3C via car controllers 2A-2C to detect whether or not passengers are waiting in front of each elevator. When a hall call button 6 is operated by the waiting passenger detected, a call is registered, and an optimum car is selected and allocated thereto, with control signals outputted to the corresponding controller 2A-2B to turn a hall lantern 5A or 5B, 5C on. Also, service enhancement, elevator position, and the story at which the car is to stop are displayed on the guidance reporting device 4A or 4B, 4C of that elevator, and the guidance to the elevator allocated to the call and weather information or the like are displayed on other guidance reporting devices. At a landing where waiting passengers are no longer detected, the guidance reporting devices 4A-4C are turned off and the hall call is canceled.
