Abstract

CONSTITUTION: The surface pattern of a bill is selectively taken out as plural line data by a selecting means 46, etc. Further, when a data selecting means 46 specifies denomination, reference data on four front and rear, and normal and reverse patterns and to a specified denomination are selected. When no denomination is specified, reference data on 4×L patterns in total which are four front and rear, and normal and reverse patterns each of L denominations are selected as to one bill, and reference data on four front and rear, and normal and reverse patterns of the denomination based upon denomination information on the 1st bill are selected for 2nd and succeeding bills, so adequate reference data can be selected according to the forms of the bills.
