Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the deformation of a glass tube by holding the straight tube type glass tube with jigs having glass tube mounting sections made of quartz or ceramic with the heat resistance and nearly the same thermal conductivity as the glass tube and heating it in a baking furnace. CONSTITUTION:A jig 3 has the heat resistance and is not deformed at the baking temperature in a baking furnace 2 and made of a circular pipe of quartz or ceramic with nearly the same thermal conductivity as a glass tube 1. The glass tube 1 is stably held in line contact with glass tube mounting sections m1, m1 with linear outer peripheries of two adjacent jigs 3, 3, when they are heated at the baking temperature in the baking furnace 2, the glass tube 1 and jig 3 have little temperature difference because both of them have nearly the same thermal conductivity, the jig 3 is not deformed by heat, and the glass tube 1 is linearly held in line contact with this jig 3. The warping of the glass tube 1 is thereby prevented, and the fluorescent film inside the glass tube is baked satisfactorily.
