Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of an output density, by counting a developing history using a counting means and providing a correction means for correcting the density of an input image on the basis of the obtained count value. CONSTITUTION:To eliminate nonconformity, which occurs when an A-4 crosswise size paper is printed out after the number of printing counted by a print counter 8 in the printing of A-4 lengthwise size papers reached a predetermined number, a CPU 1 turns ON a control signal to a switch circuit 2 so that image data flows through a D/D converter 4 within an A-4 lengthwise image area, and turns OFF the control signal to the switch circuit 2 when the image data flowed out of the A-4 lengthwise image area to select a D/D converter 3. In this manner, the density in the A-4 lengthwise image area is enhanced, thus enabling the entire A-4 crosswise size image to be outputted uniformly and satisfactorily.
