Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure the coercive force of a vertically magnetized film by measuring voltage variation or current variation generated between electrodes by current magnetic effect when a current is supplied into a magnetic substance from an electrode provided to the magnetic substance and a magnetic field is applied to the magnetic body. CONSTITUTION:An external magnetic field 6 exceeding the coercive force is applied in an easy magnetization direction to uniformize the magnetism in one direction. A constant current generating device 1 supplies a constant current to a sample and the voltage generated at a voltage terminal 8 at this time by voltage effect is canceled by a constant voltage generating circuit 2. An external magnetic field 6 is applied in the opposite direction from the magnetism direction and the output of a magnetic field measuring instrument 5 and the voltage variation at the voltage terminal 8 are recorded on an XY recorder. In a magnetism inversion area, the voltage generated at the voltage terminal 8 varies because of abnormal magneto-resistance effect. Consequently, the coercive force of the vertically magnetized film is easily measured in a high magnetic field.
