Abstract
PURPOSE:To insulate and cool a superconducting device at a place where the temperature gradient of an electric conduction line exists by disposing it so that the liquid temperature of medium for insulating the line is equal to or higher than the temperatures of the sections of the line corresponding to the temperature distribution of the line. CONSTITUTION:High pressure liquid nitrogen 3 is employed at a low temperature section of 77-113K of an electric conduction line 10 in the vicinity connected to a superconducting device 1 used in a temperature range (77K) of liquid nitrogen 2. Freon 22 4 is employed in the temperature range of 113-232K of an intermediate temperature section of the line 10. SF6 5, 6 are employed in a temperature range of 232K or more of a high temperature section of the line 10. Insulating spacers 8 are further provided in temperature zones of the respective temperature ranges. Coolers 9 are provided in the respective temperature zones. Then, medium in contact with the sections of the line for insulating and cooling are always held in the liquid. Thus, it is insulated and cooled at a place where the temperature gradient of the line 10 exits.
