Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent deformation of a catalyst support by making the thermal expansion coefficient of a metallic catalyst container larger than that of a metal honeycomb catalyst support. CONSTITUTION:A metal honeycomb support 10 where a metallic wavy plate 11 and a flat plate 12 are piled and wound in multi-layer to support catalyst such as noble metal or the like is loaded in a metallic catalyst container 20. The thermal expansion coefficient of the catalyst container is set larger than that of the metal honeycomb support. Thus, the compressive force which the catalyst support receives from the container is reduced to prevent deformation of the support.
