Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a detergent which can wash away blood adhering to an article to be cleaned with very high effectiveness, and which comprises an oxidoreductase and a protease, optionally together with a reaction substrate for the oxidoreductase. CONSTITUTION:A detergent comprises at least one oxidoreductase (pref. bilirubin oxidase produced by Myrothecium bacterium, laccase produced by Polyporus bacterium, glucose oxidase produced by Aspergillus bacterium, etc. which are available at low cost) and a protease, optionally together with a reaction substrate for the oxidoreductase. When the oxidoreductase is one selected from glucose oxidase, cholesterol oxidase, uricase, etc., it is necessary to add a reaction substrate for these enzymes to the detergent. By the use of this detergent, it is possible to effectively clean hospital furnishings, such as clothes used in surgical operation and cover on a consultation seat, which have been stained with blood etc.
