Abstract

PURPOSE:To observe both of a freezing image and an input image even at the time of a freezing action and subsequent actions, by displaying the input image and the storage image of a image memory simultaneously on a monitoring device by means of a so-called picture-in-picture function. CONSTITUTION:At the time of reading an image frozen in an image memory 12, a switch 21 is connected to a contact 21a side, and the clock of a signal generating circuit 18 is impressed to an (x) coordinate counter 23. A switch 22 is connected to a contact 22b side, and the output pulse of a pulse generator 20 is impressed to a (y) coordinate counter 24. Since the pulse generator 20 outputs (n) pieces of pulses for one horizontal synchronizing pulse, the image memory 12 is read at a n-fold speed both in a horizontal direction and a vertical direction, and the image of an ordinary 1/nX1/n can be obtained. In the period of reading from the image memory 12, a switch 15 is connected to a contact 15b side. Thus, to an output terminal 16, an input video signal is outputted on a master screen, and the picture-in-picture signal of the image frozen in the image memory 12 is outputted on a slave screen.
