Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent fine dust from entering a housing and internal mechanism from deteriorating owing to it by providing a circulation air flow generating means which circulates an air flow in the housing through heat sources and a cooling means which has its cooling surface positioned in the circulation air flow, and using a thermoelectric freezing element as this cooling means. CONSTITUTION:A couple of fans 35 and 36 and a fan driving motor functioning as the air flow generating means are arranged in the lower chamber 32 of the housing 1, and the thermoelectric freezing element 38 functioning as the cooling means is provided right below a photosensitive drum 2 and on the base frame 1b of the housing 1. This freezing element 38 is a Peltier effect element; and its cooling surface faces the passing surface of the air flow A and its heating surface is fixed directly to the base frame 1b. This element is therefore incorporated in the housing 1 and the air flow A is circulated in the housing 1 through it to attain heat exchanging with the heat sources 5a, 6, 12, and 16. Consequently, the heat sources 5a, 6, 12, and 16 are cooled efficiently by the closed loop.
