Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable discrimination of each mark and reading of its information to be performed by using a simple circuit, by reading ink ribbon information marked based on a logical combination of output signals of a first and a second optical sensors. CONSTITUTION:A bar state mark PN which represents a number of sheets on which an image is printed is annexed to a top part of an ink ribbon 10, and bar state marks IDY, IDM, IDC are annexed to start positions of respective color portions Y, M, C. Sensors 12, 14 are arranged respectively facing an upper half part and a lower half part of the ink ribbon 10. An output signal of a sensor 12 is supplied as it is to a one side input terminal of OR gates 16, 18 and besides, after inversion with an inversion circuit 24, is supplied to the other input terminal of OR gate 20. The output signal of the sensor 4 is supplied as it is to the other input terminal of OR gates 18, 20, and after inversion with an inversion circuit 22, is supplied to the other input terminal of OR gate 16. Therefore, the marks PN, IDY, IDM, and IDC can be also discriminated by a logical combination of output signal of two sensors 12, 14.
