Abstract
PURPOSE:To allow a grinding wheel to automatically escape, and prevent damage to the relatively small grinding wheel when overloads are applied to the grinding wheel by electrically connecting a motor equipped with an encoder connected to a supporting shaft to a control unit including a supporting shaft control unit and an operating command unit. CONSTITUTION:A position of a grinding wheel 9 is detected by a detection unit 17 based on the encoder-information from a motor 5 equipped with an encoder. The suitability of the position of the grinding wheel 9 is judged by a judgement unit 18 based on a signal from the detection unit 17 and a preset target-position of the grinding wheel 9. The deviation of the grinding wheel from a specified position is stored in a memory unit 19, and based on the information from the memory unit 19 an operating command unit 20 outputs a command to an industrial robot to return the grinding wheel 9 to a point in front of a preset target-grinding line. Based on the command, the grinding wheel 9 is returned to this point by the industrial robot. After that, the grinding wheel 9 is moved from the point based on the target-grinding line, and flash, etc. around the periphery of a casting are ground and removed.
