Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent phase change by providing a detection line a coaxial structure employing an FET element, coupling a variable attenuation circuit to a transmission line and arranging plural variable attenuation circuits with different coupling degree thereby attaining high speed changeover and use in large power. CONSTITUTION:Radio wave absorbing variable attenuation circuits 2, 3 having a coupling degree of -6.8dB and attenuation circuits 4, 5 of -3dB are constitut ed to a transmission line 1 and each coupling value is formed by varying the degree of coupling of detection lines 21, 31,41, 51 of the directional coupler. The circuit 2 has GaAs FET switching elements 2Ta, 2Tb and the gate is connected to an impression terminal No1 of a control circuit 6 sending a for ward bias. The circuits 3, 4, 5 have the same constitution as the circuit 2 but the degree of coupling of the detection line differs. The attenuation circuit applies prescribed absorbing attenuation by connecting and grounding said element. Each element is biased by the circuit 6 and the combination between the attenuation circuits operated to obtain a desired attenuation is decided by a combination command signal given to the circuit 6.
